There's a big addition to the free agent centre market.
Deandre Ayton and the Portland Trail Blazers are finalizing a contract buyout, ESPN's Shams Charania reported on Sunday.
Ayton, the 2018 first overall pick, spent the past two seasons with the Blazers after five with the Suns. The seven-footer played in only 95 games with Portland.
The 26-year-old big man averaged 14.4 points, 10.2 rebounds and one block last season. Over his seven-year career, Ayton averaged 16.4 points and 10.5 rebounds while shooting 59 per cent from the field.
